The BDT platform will be live for bills of lading starting March 15 for southbound Mississippi River soybean shipments.
National Grain and Feed Digital Solutions (NGFDS), an organization affiliated with the National Grain and Feed Association (NGFA), officially launched the widely-anticipated BDT system on Nov. 2, 2020, for corn.
The platform will expand further to include wheat, soybean meal and distillers dried grains in April.
In anticipation of expanding the platform, NGFDS worked with essDOCS to implement new enhancements to the system including an extension to the Open API (application programming interface).
essDOCS released new functional and API features in February and March, respectively and future releases of enhancements are expected by mid-year. Currently, 44 companies – 31 shippers and 13 barge lines – use the platform.
