Sweden-based Alimak Hek has installed more than 30,000 elevators featuring rack and pinion drive technology since its start in 1948. For the grain industry, the company features the Alimak SE special purpose personnel elevator which was introduced in 1996.
“Rack and pinion drive technology eliminates cables, pulleys, and counter weights for easier maintenance and fewer moving parts. All of the machinery is on the top of the car, and the power cable is the only cable,” says Sales Manager-Grain Bob Daugherty.
Built for Harsh Environments
“The SE’s modular design enables a wide range of car sizes and capabilities,” he adds. “It’s built for harsh environments and long life and features mast sections of hot dip galvanized steel, all stainless steel electrical cabinets, and landing control boxes. Optional stainless steel cars also are available.”
