Sioux Steel Co. in 2017 introduced the fifth and newest model to its line of commercial bin sweeps, the Daay Paddle Sweep (DPS) 12K heavy-duty bin sweep, which is designed to unload large quantities of grain, up to 12,000 bph.
According to Commercial Bin Sales Manager Larry Stubbe, the DPS 12K bin sweep is designed for tanks 72 to 139 feet in diameter.
“The DPS 12K bin sweep improves safety and efficiency, and is designed for large-capacity commercial grain storage systems,” says Stubbe.
“One three-phase explosion-proof motor operates the sweep, and the support stands enable minimal entry, once the sweep has begun operating, reducing the risk of explosions or accidents.”
Constant power. “The DPS 12K bin sweep features simplified drive tractors that efficiently power the sweep around the bin,” he says, “while the collector ring provides constant power to the sweep motor. This improves safety and eliminates the need to move electrical cords.
Stubbe adds that the sweep also uses flexible rubber paddles that gently move grain much like a rubber wiper on the bottom of a household door.
