Early in 2014, Gruber Manufacturing purchased the Compton Enterprises line of portable railcar unloading conveyors.
According to General Manger Todd Gruber, since the acquisition, the company has been significantly improved the portable railcar conveyor to enhance its quality, ease of use, and speed in unloading rail cars.
“With a 99-horsepower John Deere engine and a belt speed of 1,000 feet per minute, the portable railcar conveyor can unload 450 to 500 tons of material per hour, or four railcars per hour,” says Gruber.
“The conveyor is built with structural steel and finished with powdercoated paint for excellent structural rigidity and longevity.”
Maximum Flexibility
“The portable railcar unloading conveyor is available in 20-, 30-, and 40-inch belt widths, and discharge heights of 14, 16 and 18 feet for maximum flexibility,” explains Gruber.
“The conveyor is also self contained and self powered so it can be used the same day it’s offloaded from the truck. And it can be towed with a pickup truck.”.
