Bucket Elevator Drive Eliminates Fretting Corrosion

SEW-EURODRIVE, INC

TorqLOC technology saves time, reduces labor costs

SEW-EURODRIVE has provided drive technology to customers worldwide for more than 85 years. In 2018, the company introduced a redesign of its bucket elevator drive, featuring patented TorqLOC® technology.

According to Regional Industrial Gear Products and Systems Manager Jim Magill, “We have added several innovative features to our X-Series bucket elevator drive, like our TorqLOC. This keyless locking device allows for multiple shaft sizes and can be used with standard, cold-rolled steel shafts (available in inch and metric).”

Simplified Assembly/Disassembly

“TorqLOC eliminates fretting corrosion, allowing simple and rapid assembly and disassembly to save time and reduce labor costs,” explains Magill. “It also enables easy removal of the gearbox from the shaft following years of service.”

“We offer swing-base mount mounting and self-aligning units up to 300 hp/460 volts. Auxiliary drives also are offered with the bucket elevator series units,” he adds.
