Company Profile
Patchin Messner Dodd & Brumm

Patchin Messner Dodd & Brumm – founded in 1981 – is a property valuation firm that serves a wide range of local, regional, and national customers.

The firm focuses on commercial/industrial properties, with a strong concentration in manufacturing and special-purpose properties.

Agribusiness and heavy manufacturing plants are among the company’s more notable practice areas, with a special emphasis on grain handling and processing facilities.

“A staff of 11 appraisers, which includes our four owners (principals), gives us an ability to tackle a wide range of assignments, both large and small,” says Jason L. Messner, MAI, principal.

“Clients expect and receive a high degree of professionalism and attention to detail in the services we provide,” he says.

Clay Dodd, MAI, ASA, one of the company’s principals, manages the agribusiness practice. Past assignments include all types of grain elevators, flour mills, feed mills, ethanol plants, wet corn mills, and other grain milling and processing facilities.

Assignments involving large food processing plants are a natural extension of the agribusiness practice.

“Appraisals/consultations are done for a variety of reasons, including finance, acquisition, financial reporting, purchase-price allocation, and litigation support,” says Dodd.
