Reprinted from Grain Journal May/June 2019 Issue

Founded in 1953, Central Illinois Scale Company specializes in scales ranging from pharmaceutical scales that weigh milligrams to truck scales capable of weighing hundreds of thousands of pounds.

The company has offices in Decatur, Danville, and Peoria, IL and serves a diverse group of businesses and industries, including agricultural, processing, and distribution facilities throughout central Illinois and west central Indiana.

“We’re a preferred distributor for Mettler Toledo, the world’s largest scale company, and are a distributor for Ohaus, Rice Lake, MSI, Doran Scale, B-Tek Scales, Avery Weigh-Tronic, Rinstrum, and many more,” says Operations Manager Ryan Fox. “We’re known for our customer service and quick response times, and our knowledge and experience allow us to get the job done right and on time.”

Scale Services

With thousands of pounds of test weights and six heavy capacity trucks, the company handles anything for scales and all manufacturers’ makes and models. It has vast experience handling repairs, certifications, calibration, and inspections. They have been an ISO 17025 accredited lab for 20 years.

A lab division services pharmaceutical scales, and a sister company operates a truck grain probe business serving customers throughout the Midwest. The company also is working to install camera systems that integrate with their scales at coops and elevators.

“We’re honest, we don’t cut corners, and we don’t push new products if existing products can be repaired,” adds Fox.
