The modest aspirations in 1982 of original owners Rich and Barbara Cook are behind the name of Tri-States Grain Conditioning, Inc., also known as TSGC.
“They thought if they could serve Iowa and reach out to South Dakota and Minnesota, they’d be doing quite well,” says Jo Winkowitsch, co-owner with her husband Darwin. “By the time we bought the company in 2007, they had grown from that tri-state region to serving most of the continental United States and more than 40 other countries.
Under the leadership of Darwin, who is president and Jo, who is vice president, as well as Darwin’s brother Daniel, who is general manager, TSGC now has customers scattered over 48 states and 46 foreign countries.
“I think what made the company expand so quickly was how it got quotes out quickly and gave phenomenal service,” Jo explains. “Because temperature monitoring is all we do, we’ve worked to continue that.”
Product Lineup
Daniel says the company maintains a can-do attitude toward service with an array of equipment to meet the needs of the grain industry.
“We always like to say: ‘Yes, we can do that, and you will like how it works,’” he says.
TSGC product lineup includes:
• Portable grain monitoring units.
• Grain Trac – lets users monitor their grain and control their aeration systems anywhere, anytime using a Smartphone.
• SafeTrack – a commercial-grade unit which monitors grain temperature and volume from a centralized system with proprietary software.
• Ground pile management systems, which provide wireless monitoring. j
